2007 Fall Happenings

Return to Main Photo Gallery

In our strategic plan, three references are made to areas where FASN needs to become more visible.
Goal 1: Increase FASn's . . . recognition in the state;
Goal 4: Formalize and renew relationships with other . . . organizations who are committed to student health advocacy; and
Goal 8: increase . . . communication within FASN and outward to the communities.

This fall FASN and school nurses shared their voice in many different venues.  From Rhonda Lesniak's trip to DC to play in the medical orchestra in honor of the anniversary of 9/11 to Kathleen Rose's trip to Gadsen County to thank Sylvia Byrd for her many years of support to school nurses to presentations by Karen Thoennes and Karen Capps and Sandra Gallogly at the School Health and Education Consortium to our presence at the annual Attendance Symposium with Kathy and Diane Mennitt.

Then there is a whole group of pictures from the "Girl's Night Out" held in Escambia County.  They are doing a presentation at our State Conference.  I can't wait to hear more!  School Nurse Sue Kennedy is with a group of her students doing the "Safe Walk to School", a yearly effort across the state to promote more physical activity by walking safely to school.   I was invited to attend the interviews for the next Commissioner of Education.  While there I had a picture taken of me with our acting Commissioner Jeanne Bloomberg. Our new backboard:  FASN Supporting School Nurses Statewide, has been traveling around the state also. Finally, I've included my husband's birthday gift to me, my own license plate promoting school (skul) nursing!

Enjoy,
Kathy
