Support Florida School Nurses' Hurricane Ian Recovery

By Robyn Hathaway, BSN, RN, NCSN posted 10-12-2022 15:18

Good Afternoon,

Thank you to the many who have reached out to see how our School Nurses in the Southwest area of Florida are recovering. Schools in Lee County are attempting to reopen in the coming weeks. We have learned that some schools will not be operational for months and some of our School Nurses have lost everything. While many are still recovering we wanted to share two ways you can help support our recovery efforts.

  • GoFundMe- Please support our Florida School Nurses who have been impacted by Hurricane Ian. Our goal is to get a self-care kit containing a stethoscope, a gift card to purchase new scrubs, and other health-related items into the hands of every school nurse in the Southwest region of Florida. Any extra funds will be donated to a handful of school nurses who have lost everything during this hurricane. GoFundMe link - click here.

  • Letters of Encouragement-Please email any letters or words of encouragement to rhathaway@kendallchristian.com. These letters will be included in care packages being sent to our School Nurses.
Thank you for all your support during this difficult time. We know the recovery will be arduous but we can make that process a little bit easier by letting them know they are not alone.
Sincerely,

Robyn Hathaway, BSN, RN, NCSN
